What excited me most about the WIA Connect(X) discussion wasn’t just the problems. It was how clearly the panelists described the future state.
Historical views are becoming mandatory
Both AT&T and PTI emphasized that historical data cannot be discarded.
Jamie explained it this way:
“We’re not deleting old data. We want to understand what our sites looked like over time.”
Shailesh from PTI added:
“We never delete previous flights. We compare versions so we can flag changes and validate what’s authorized.”
Permanent history, versioning, and delta detection are no longer nice-to-haves. They are becoming table stakes.
Scenario modeling will define planning decisions
AT&T outlined very specific use cases for what-if analysis:
“Structural scenarios, EMF scenarios, capacity planning. We want to understand the impact before we build.”
This is where intelligence moves from descriptive to predictive, reducing risk before capital is deployed.
Revenue assurance and time to revenue are directly tied to data quality
Shailesh gave one of the clearest examples of how intelligence translates into financial impact:
“If someone is not in conformance with their lease requirements, we can go after them for additional rent.”
Sean reinforced the importance of speed on the vendor side:
“If you shorten the payment cycle even five or ten percent, that’s significant.”
Automation is no longer about efficiency alone. It is about accelerating revenue, protecting margin, and scaling without adding headcount.
Telecom is ready for an AI-native platform
Taken together, the message was clear. Telecom doesn’t need another point solution. It needs an AI-native platform for infrastructure assets that unifies data, applies rules and validation, and executes workflows at scale.
That’s the future the industry is moving toward. Intelligent, automated, and built for speed.
And based on this conversation, it’s not five years away. It’s already underway.

Who Joined the Conversation
The WIA Connect(X) 365 webinar brought together leaders actively shaping how telecom infrastructure is built, audited, and operated today:
Jamie Ochoa
Director of Transformation & Automation, AT&T
Leads AT&T’s shift from manual, document-heavy workflows to orchestrated, automated operations across planning, design, construction, and closeout.
Clint Vincent
Associate Director, Site Digitization & National Quality Program, AT&T
Oversees site digitization and quality programs, including drone capture, measurement standards, and automated audits across AT&T’s wireless network.
Shylesh Moras
SVP of Operations, Phoenix Tower International
Responsible for operations across PTI’s global tower portfolio, with a focus on digital twins, inventory accuracy, lease compliance, and reducing site visits.
Sean Kramer
President & CEO, Pathwave
Leads a field service management platform focused on digitizing workflows, accelerating closeout, and reducing back-office and payment cycle delays for telecom contractors.
Together, these perspectives offered a clear, operator-level view into where telecom infrastructure is headed and what’s required to scale with speed, accuracy, and confidence.
