This week at Connect (X), the Inorsa team had the opportunity to participate in Telecom Trailblazers, an initiative led by the Women’s Wireless Leadership Forum (WWLF) and WIA focused on introducing high school students to careers in telecom, digital infrastructure, and STEM.
Zain Admani joined a student panel discussion, and both of us participated in mentorship sessions with students throughout the event. The conversations covered everything from engineering and AI to construction, infrastructure operations, and the many paths that exist across the telecom industry today.
One thing became very clear throughout the day: most students have no idea how many career opportunities exist in this industry until someone takes the time to show them.
“Programs like Telecom Trailblazers are important because they do more than introduce students to telecom. They help expose young adults to the broader world of careers, technology, infrastructure, and opportunities they may not have otherwise considered. I’m proud to be part of an industry that invests time into mentoring and supporting the next generation.”
— Chris B., Head of Marketing at Inorsa
Telecom powers nearly every part of modern life, yet the work behind it often goes unseen. Wireless networks, fiber infrastructure, permitting, engineering, deployment, data systems, AI, and operations all require talented people solving real-world problems every day. And as infrastructure demands continue to grow, the need for the next generation of engineers, operators, analysts, project managers, and innovators will only increase.
That’s what makes programs like Telecom Trailblazers so important.
By creating hands-on learning experiences and direct access to industry professionals, WWLF and WIA are helping students see that telecom is not only a viable career path, but an industry where they can make a meaningful impact.
Events like this also matter for another reason: representation and exposure shape confidence. When students can ask questions directly to people working in the industry, hear real career stories, and understand the different ways technology and infrastructure connect together, the industry becomes more approachable and tangible.
At Inorsa, we spend a lot of time talking about the future of infrastructure, AI, and automation. But the future of this industry is also about people. It’s about building a stronger pipeline of talent, opening doors earlier, and helping the next generation understand the opportunities available to them.
We’re grateful to WWLF and WIA for organizing Telecom Trailblazers as part of Connect (X) and for the work they continue to do to support STEM education and workforce development across the telecom industry.
And to the students who participated: thank you for the thoughtful questions, energy, and curiosity. The future of telecom is in good hands.
Why It Matters
The telecom industry depends on the next generation of engineers, operators, project managers, and infrastructure leaders. Programs like Telecom Trailblazers help students understand the real-world impact of telecom and the many career opportunities available across STEM and digital infrastructure.
